My son has been taking drum lessons once a week since January 2007 and has already learned more than I could have imagined. Basic beats and rudiments, dissemble, assemble, and tune his drumkit. He has also learned how to read music, the importance of physical safety, stretching, warming up and proper posture just to name a few.

Link Logen has an upbeat personality that children respond to. He is kind and encouraging. He listens to them and stays in tune to their individual musical needs.

Link Logen has been our son's drum instructor for about a year and a half now. He has an excellent student to teacher relationship. He has taught our son rudiments, triplets, rolls, drum etiquette, different ways to divide his kit to come up with new and unique rhythms, read notation, tabs, tune and take care of his drum kit, how to set-up and tear down a kit, stick twirls and various styles of music.

Link has always made positive remarks to our son which, has inspired our son to continue and try harder. Link is able to pick up on a students strong points and help him further his talents in the drumming field. Link also has the unique ability to take less likable activities, for example drum cleaning, and turn them into a learning experience by explaining the history of drums.

Link has also taken his own personal time to host and organize a drumming contest that several of his students and also other drummers attended this past fall. Link even went as far as to have the famous drummer, Simon Kirke, of Bad Company as one of the judges.

As you can tell, we think very highly of Link Logen.

The Federation of Drums and Link Logen have been giving our son drum lessons since August 2006. In that time, our son has learned an assortment of things directly and indirectly related to the drums. He has learned paradiddles, hand/eye coordination and experimentation with the theory that everything makes a sound. Our son is 10 years old and has been taking lessons with Link for a little less than a year. In this time, our son has come a long way.

Link has taught our son so many complex things about drums and drumming. He has also taught him to believe in himself, that anything is possible to do, so long as he never gave up and always did his best; he could achieve his goals. The way Link progressively and systematically teaches, made it all understandable for our 10 year old son.
